HBc IgM ELISA Kit

چکیده
Hepatitis B core Antigen (or HBcAg) is the major component of the core particles of Hepatitis B virus (or HBV). Particles have a size of 27 nm and contain a circular double-stranded DNA molecule, a specific DNA-polymerase and HBcAg. HBcAg is composed of a single polypeptide of about 17 kD that is released upon disaggregation of the core particles; the antigen contains at least one immunological determinant. Upon primary infection, anti HBcAg IgM antibodies are one of the first markers of HBV hepatitis appearing in the serum of the patient, together or slightly later than HBsAg, the viral surface antigen.Anti HBcAg IgM titers, very high during the acute phase, decrease along the illness, as IgG antibodies appear, down to undetectable levels in convalescent patients. In chronic hepatitis, however, spikes of anti HBcAg IgM synthesis are present, confirming reactivation of HBV in hepatocites and giving origin to permanent IgM low titers. The determination of anti HBcAg IgM antibodies has become very important for the fast classification of the virus, of the phase of the illness and for the monitoring of patients under treatment with interferon.

Prevalence of anti-HBc in HBsAg negative blood donors using two enzyme immunoassays kits
Abstract Background and Objectives Use of kits with high sensitivity and specificity to determine the prevalence of antibodies against hepatitis B virus (anti-HBc) core antigen is important. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of hepatitis B virus antibody in HBsAg negative blood donors using two anti-HBc enzyme immunoassay kits (DIA.PRO and SIEMENS). Materials and Methods...
متن کاملFalse-positive ELISA reactivity to hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg)
It is claimed that the possibility of non-specific reactions in ELISA tests for HBsAg has been substantially eliminated (1), though like any other highly sensitive immune test system, ELISA does still have the potential of yielding false-positive reactions. Such reactivity in the hepatitis B virus (HBV) hyperendemic focus of the Gizan Area of Saudi Arabia was encountered using a two-titer test ...
متن کاملبررسی عفونت نهفته هپاتیت "ب" در اهداکنندگان خون با HBsAg منفی و anti-HBc مثبت
Introduction: In recent years with introduction of better screening tests, the risk of infection with transfusion-transmitted viruses has been reduced remarkably, although obtaining a zero-risk blood supply still remains international blood transfusion services goal. The routine test for detection of HBV infected blood samples is examination of HBsAg with ELISA method but in occult HBV infectio...
متن کاملPrevalence of Occult Hepatitis B Infection among HBsAg Negative Blood Donors in Golestan Province
Background and Aims: Occult hepatitis B virus infection (OBI) is known as an important source of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It is categorized as Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) not being present and low DNA viral load in serum. In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the outbreak of anti-HBc and OBI among the HBsAg-negative donors in Golestan province. Materials and Metho...
متن کاملDesigning an ELISA Method for Measurement of Human IgG and IgM Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2
Background and purpose: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this study, an indirect ELISA method was designed to measure the human IgM and IgG antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. Materials and methods: Protein sequence of nucleocapsid antigen from SARS-CoV-2 was expressed in E. coli BL21 and then was...
